Description

Craving a sushi night? This roll is like a vacation in every bite—bright, fresh, and oh-so-satisfying! 🌊🥢

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Roll:
    • 1 ½ cups sushi rice, cooked
    • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • ½ tsp salt
    • 4 nori sheets
    • 8 cooked shrimp, tails removed
    • 1 small cucumber, julienned
    • 1 avocado, thinly sliced
    • Lettuce leaves (optional, for extra crunch)
  • For Garnish:
    • Sesame seeds
    • Pickled ginger, soy sauce, and wasabi (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Rice: Mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Gently fold it into the warm sushi rice, ensuring even distribution. Let the rice cool to room temperature.
  2. Lay It Out: Place a bamboo sushi mat on a clean surface and cover it with plastic wrap. Lay a nori sheet shiny side down on the mat.
  3. Spread the Rice: With damp fingers, spread a thin, even layer of rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
  4. Add the Filling: Arrange shrimp, cucumber, avocado, and lettuce (if using) horizontally across the rice.
  5. Roll It Up: Starting at the bottom edge, use the mat to gently roll the sushi into a tight log. Press gently to seal.
  6. Slice and Serve: Use a sharp knife to cut the roll into bite-sized pieces. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  7. Enjoy the Flavor: Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi on the side.
